Who is the mole on “NCIS: Los Angeles“? The CBS show is getting closer to answering this question, and it is something that will continue to be at the heart of the series as we start to move into “Hot Water,” the next new episode of the show airing in one week’s time. The title absolutely feels applicable to the state of the team — and Hetty in particular. If you remember, the character had an ultimatum a little earlier this season to figure things out or pay the consequences. Well, she still hasn’t figured it out, and consequences could be a-coming.
In usual CBS fashion, the network isn’t choosing to release a wide bevy of information in advance when it comes to everything that will be coming up.
Synopsis – “The mole has once again compromised the NCIS team as planted evidence results in the arrests of Callen, Sam, Granger and Deeks, on the day Under Secretary Duggan (Jackson Hurst) returns for Hetty’s resignation.”
Based on some of the reports that are out there, we could be in for some big reveals over the next few episodes in particular. Of course, the funny (or not-so-funny) thing about this is that even when the mole is officially unearthed, there may still be plenty of story about them to come. While the show definitely does still have plenty of procedural elements to it, at the same exact time we’d wager that this is the most serialized version of the show we’ve seen to date. As someone who’s already gotten to know these characters so well, we love the idea of the writers pushing things more in this direction.
Promo – If you look below, you can see precisely how bad things are going to get. (Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen the episode yet.)
We’re going to see arrests over the course of the hour. You’re also going to see people being targeted, and an attack that seems to be calculated and meant very much to destroy the organization from within. While we saw the mole operating a little bit more quietly earlier in the season, we’re definitely starting to see things escalate now. It’s difficult to know precisely where this will end, but the team may be in more danger than ever!
